About the free data-share perk

What you share, and what we will never ask your machine for.

The perk is free and reversible. Reading the list below is the contract — what is measured, and what is excluded, never changes without opt-in.

What is measured when you opt in

Aggregate signals only, scoped to OS-level categories.

  • Which OS features get used on which hardware combinations.
  • Compatibility issues — where things break, in aggregate.
  • Nothing identified to a single user. Nothing on screen, on disk, or in keystrokes.

Never collected, even if you opt in

What we will never ask your machine for, even with the perk on.

  • No screen contents, window titles, file paths, or keystrokes.
  • No identifiers that resolve to a single user or device.
  • No third-party SDKs, no cross-site profiles, no ad-tech piggybacks.
  • No biometrics, no microphone captures, no camera captures.
